Rosters and Schedule Finalized for Kenner Pro/City Summer League

June 29, 2006 Washington, D.C. - The Pro/City portion of the Kenner League summer basketball schedule will tip off on Sunday, July 2 at McDonough Arena. . The first game is slated for 3:15 p.m., with Myers & Alterman facing The Bulldogs. The second game of the day, scheduled to start at 4:30 p.m., features the DC Jammers and Electro-Lite 02 (formerly known as Madness All-Stars/LIFE). The Clyde's and Custom Uniforms will tip off at 5:45 p.m., and the day's final game, tipping off at 7 p.m., will pit the Bethesda Magic against The Tombs. Several returning Georgetown men's basketball players, as well as incoming freshmen and even some former Hoya players with NBA and overseas experience will be playing in the league this year. Juniors Jeff Green (Hyattsville, Md./Northwestern) and Jonathan Wallace (Harvest, Ala./Sparkman) will play for The Tombs, while juniors Patrick Ewing, Jr. (Marietta, Ga./National Christian Academy [Md.]) and Kenny Izzo (Chicago, Ill./Fenwick) will play for Custom Uniforms. Sophomores Marc Egerson (Wilmington, Del./Glasgow) and Octavius Spann (College Park, Ga./Banneker) will play for Myers & Alterman; junior Tyler Crawford (Staunton, Va./Robert E. Lee) and sophomore Josh Thornton (Rochester, N.Y./Caesar Rodney [Del.]) are on the roster for Electro-Lite 02; and junior Roy Hibbert (Adelphi, Md./Georgetown Prep) will team up with sophomore Jessie Sapp (New York, N.Y./National Christian Academy [Md.]) for The Clyde's. Admission for games is free. In addition to players from Georgetown, local college players from American, Bowie State, George Mason and Maryland will be participating in the league as well. After July 2, there will be Kenner League Pro/Am games every Saturday and Sunday afternoon. For almost 20 years, future NBA stars and D.C. playground legends have made names for themselves in the James "Jabbo" Kenner League, the highlight of D.C. summer hoops. Named after one of the founders and first director of the Metropolitan Police Boys' and Girls' Club of Washington DC, the Kenner league has for nearly 20 years attracted high school, college and professional players from throughout the area to come together in the off-season and play in a team-oriented atmosphere that is both competitive and safe. It has also provided fans, friends and family the chance to see great hoops action in air-conditioned comfort.
