Georgetown Athletics Introduces Digital Ticket System

Oct. 1, 2012

WASHINGTON - The Georgetown Athletics Department and Monumental Sports & Entertainment announced today the introduction of a new digital ticketing system available to all Georgetown Hoyas Men's Basketball season ticket holders.

The season ticket digital card program replaces traditional paper tickets with a MY HOYAS Season Ticket Card pre-loaded with corresponding seat locations. The card will provide fans with admission to all home games at Verizon Center as part of their full season ticket packages.

Each season ticket holder will receive one MY HOYAS Season Ticket Card for his/her account and all 2012-13 Georgetown men's basketball season tickets will be loaded onto this card. For games in which the season ticket holder is unable to attend or when there is a need to share tickets, the program allows season ticket holders to forward or print tickets through the MY HOYAS Account free of charge.

"Georgetown Athletics is pleased to work with Monumental Sports and Ticketmaster to provide digital ticketing solutions and enhanced technology to fans in an efficient, secure and easy manner," Georgetown University associate athletics director for external affairs Dan O'Neil said. "We place a high priority on customer service and are excited to offer digital-ticketing solutions to our loyal Hoya fan base."

In an effort to make the transition to digital tickets as easy as possible, several resources will be available to season ticket holders. In late October, fans will receive their MY HOYAS Season Ticket Books, which will provide a detailed explanation of the system's benefits, answers to frequently asked questions and step-by-step instructions on how to use the MY HOYAS Account to forward or print tickets.

The card is valid for all seat locations on an account and is swiped using a hand-held computer by an attendant upon entrance to Verizon Center. Patrons then receive a seat locator tab for each valid ticket stored on the card, which is used as the ticket for the game once inside of the arena.
