WASHINGTON - The 19th-ranked Georgetown University men's basketball team returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 21, visiting Savannah State for a non-league game at Tiger Arena in Georgia. The game will tip off at 1 p.m. Fans interested in listening to the Hoya broadcast of the game, on AM 570 with Rich Chvotkin calling the action, can visit the Georgetown Athletics website - www.guhoyas.com - and click on the "Listen" link posted on the men's basketball team schedule.

The Hoyas improved to 2-0 on this young season Tuesday afternoon, beating Temple, 46-45, at Verizon Center in a game that was part of ESPN's "24 Hours of College Basketball." Sophomore center Greg Monroe (New Orleans, La./Helen Cox) scored the game-winning layup with 6.5 seconds left and then forced a turnover with two seconds on the clock to preserve the win.

The game on Saturday will be the third meeting all-time between the Hoyas and the Tigers, who are coached by former Georgetown guard Horace Broadnax. Georgetown has won both of the previous meetings between the teams, including a 100-38 decision last year at Verizon Center. Broadnax, who played for John Thompson, Jr. and was part of the 1984 NCAA National Championship team, is in his fifth season at SSU, taking over a team that went 0-28 in 2005 and guided them to a 16-15 finish during the 2008-09 season.

Monroe is one of four players scoring in double figures for the Hoyas, leading the team with 14.5 points per game and leading the team with 10.0 rebounds per game. He is 23rd in the BIG EAST in scoring and tied for eighth in the league in rebounding through just two games.

Junior guard Chris Wright (Bowie, Md./St. John's College HS) is tied for second on the team in scoring with 13.0 points per game, adding 1.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game, while junior guard Austin Freeman (Mitchellville, Md./DeMatha) is tied for second on the team in scoring (13.0 ppg), rebounding (5.5 rpg) and assists (2.5 apg).

Sophomore guard Jason Clark (Arlington, Va./Bishop O'Connell), who has started the first two games of the season, is fourth on the team in scoring with 10.5 points per game and tied for second in rebounding (5.5 rpg) and assists (2.5 apg). Clark has hit a team-best five 3-point field goals and is shooting 41.7 percent from outside the arc.

The Hoyas are shooting 45.3 percent from the floor as a team, while hitting 28.6 percent of their three-point field goals and 64.9 percent from the free throw line. Opponents are shooting 36.2 percent from the floor and 17.1 percent from three-point land. Georgetown holds a 36.0 to 31.5 advantage in rebounding, is handing out 12.0 assists per game and averaging 15.5 turnovers per game.

After tomorrow's game, Georgetown will return home to play three-straight games at Verizon Center, beginning with a match up on Saturday, Nov. 28 against Lafayette. The game will be shown live on MASN and can be heard locally on AM 570.
