Georgetown Announces Radio Broadcast Schedule for 2009-10 Season

WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University men's basketball team has announced its full radio schedule for the remainder of the 2009-10 season. The Hoyas return home this weekend for the first of three-straight games at Verizon Center, hosting Patriot League foe Lafayette on Saturday, Nov. 28 at noon p.m. The game can be heard locally on AM 570. Fans can listen to Georgetown men's basketball on the radio during every game and a live audio stream will be available through the Georgetown Athletics website - www.guhoyas.com. In his 35th year calling Hoya men's basketball, Rich Chvotkin handles the play-by-play for every game. Beginning with Georgetown's home contest against Mount St. Mary's on Monday, Nov. 30, every Hoya game can be heard on ESPN 980 AM. ESPN 980 is a 50,000-watt station which is also the radio home Washington Redskins and the Baltimore Orioles. One game - at DePaul on Sunday, Jan. 3, 2010 - will be broadcast on AM 570. Georgetown has started the season with three-straight wins, beating Temple at home and posting two road wins, at Tulane and at Savannah State. The Hoyas are ranked No. 18 in the country in the latest Associated Press Top 25 poll and No. 20 in the country in the ESPN/USA Today Top 25 Coaches poll. Sophomore center Greg Monroe (New Orleans, La./Helen Cox) leads the Hoyas in scoring and rebounding, averaging 14.0 points and 9.0 rebounds per game. He recorded his sixth double-double of the season in the opener at Tulane, scoring a game-high 18 points to go with 11 rebounds. Junior guard Austin Freeman (Mitchellville, Md./DeMatha) is second on the team in scoring with 12.7 points per game and third on the team with 4.7 rebounds. Classmate and fellow guard Chris Wright (Bowie, Md./St. John's College HS) is third on the team with 12.3 points per game and tied for the team lead with 2.3 assists per game and leads the squad, connecting on 56.0 percent of his field goals. Sophomore guard Jason Clark (Arlington, Va./Bishop O'Connell) is fourth on the team in scoring (11.7 ppg), second in rebounding (5.7 rpg), tied for first in assists (2.3 apg) and leads the team with nine three-point field goals.
