WASHINGTON - Georgetown junior center Jessie Govan (Queens Village, N.Y./Wings Academy) has been selected to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for the third time this season, as announced by the league on Monday.

Against the Black Bears, Govan recorded 16 points and pulled down a game-high eight rebounds in 27 minutes. Against the Eagles, Govan posted a season-high 26 points, while grabbing a career-high 16 boards in 36 minutes. Overall, Govan is aver-aging 19.8 ppg and 12.2 rpg while shooting 62.5 percent from the field in six games this season.

Govan is one of seven players in the country currently averaging at least 15.0 ppg 10.0 rpg while shooting at least 60 percent from the field. Among those seven, Govan ranks second in field goal percentage.

This is Govan’s fourth honor roll selection, as he was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll once before this season on December 26, 2016.

Georgetown returns to competition on Thursday, Dec. 7, when they host Howard Uni-versity at Capital One Arena, with an 8:30 p.m. tipoff. The game can be seen live on FS1 with Brian Custer calling the play-by-play and Tarik Turner providing color analy-sis.
