Andy Belden begins his second year on the Hilltop as head coach of the varsity lightweight men. Under his tutelage, the Hoya lightweights recorded their greatest success ever as a team, medaling for the first time at the Eastern Sprints and earning a silver medal at the IRA national championships.
Prior to Georgetown, Belden spent two years at Cornell University, coaching freshman and varsity heavyweight crews. As a varsity assistantduring the spring 2002, Belden's crews won the IRA in the pair and took second in the varsity four-with.
A native of King of Prussia, Pa., Belden is a graduate of Cornell University, where he rowed for three years in the lightweight varsity and was team MVP his final season.
