Georgetown Heavyweight Crew Loses Dual Meet with Princeton

Washington, D.C. - Georgetown Heavyweight Crew raced against Princeton University this past Saturday on Lake Carnegie in Princeton, N.J. However, the Hoyas were defeated in the Varsity 8 race by the Tigers despite the efforts of stroke Taylor Frank, CJ Mathieu, Spencer Almy, Chris Griswold, Andrew Ciriello, Chuck Hartwig, Luke O'Donnell, bow Paul Keith and coxswain Jack Carlson.
"Princeton is one of the better crews in the country," said Head Coach Tony Johnson. "So while I was disappointed to lose, we did some things very well today."
The 3V boat of stroke Grant Morrow, Jae Lee, Brian Gallagher, Phil Goodman, Tom Skomba, Michael Stack, Peter Holowesko, bow Sam Bourneuf and coxswain John Geager were victorious in their race. They finished with a time of 6:42.0, as opposed to the 6:45.5 it took for the Princeton boat to cross the finish line.
The 2V crew of stroke Max Mickiewicz, Ben Coyne, Andrew Federer, Bob Morgan, Max O'Neill, Bryan Chismar, Joe McElwee, bow Joe Ledvina and coxswain Rod Solaimani finished 3.6 seconds behind the Tigers' 2V boat and the freshman/novice 8 crew also finished behind a respective team from Princeton.
