CHERRY HILL, N.J. - The Georgetown University men's heavyweight varsity four crew claimed a silver medal on Saturday morning during the Grand Finals of the 108th Intercollegiate Rowing Association's Championship Regatta on the Cooper River in Cherry Hill, N.J.

The Hoyas heavyweight varsity four, including stroke Andrew Federer, Bryan Chismar, Patrick Opdyke, Joe Ledvina and coxswain John Geager finished in a time of 6:20.524, just over three seconds behind gold medalist Washington.

"I thought our four raced extremely well over the weekend," stated head coach Tony Johnson. "They made adjustments from race to race and that helped them today."

For the varsity four it was an improvement over last season's sixth place finish in the Grand Finals.

The Hoyas lightweight eight earned a fifth place finish in the Grand Finals of the men's varsity lightweight eight race, finishing behind Princeton, Navy, Harvard and Yale in a time of 5:42.055.
