Georgetown Heavyweight Crew Prepares for Eastern Sprints

The 13th ranked Georgetown University heavyweight men's crew heads up to Worcester, MA this weekend for the Eastern Sprints. Georgetown will race entries in the varsity eight, second varsity eight and freshman eight categories.
The varsity eight for Georgetown features Stroke Mike Blommer, Matt Stewart, Henry Hoffstot, Kyle Textor, Tim Broughton, Mike Hennessy, Alex Willen, bow John Absher, and coxswain Keri McKie. They will face No. 1 Harvard, No. 6 Northeastern, No. 7 Princeton, No. 12 Dartmouth and No. 18 MIT in their Sunday morning qualification heat.
The second varsity, comprised of Stroke Chris Kozak, Matt Funk, Chris Sparacino, Cameron Hoerner, Matt Mullman, Adam Orshefsky, James Nelson, Steven Lim, and coxswain Nathaniel Liu will be racing No. 3 Cornell, No. 4 Princeton, No. 9 Northeastern, No. 10 Boston University, and No. 16 Rutgers for a spot in the afternoon races.
The freshman eight of line-up of coxswain Bethany Biszko, stroke Mike Squitieri, Austin Bury, Alex Miceli, Lazar Zdravkovic, Will Halle, Dimitri Roumeliotis, Hunter Dougherty, and bow Jack O'Donnell have drawn No. 2 Cornell, No. 5 Wisconsin, No. 8 Navy, No. 11 Syracuse, and No. 17 Rutgers in their heat.
The top two from each heat will compete in the Grand Finals in the afternoon. The third and fourth finishing crews will go on to Petite Finals and fifth and sixth finishers will head to the 3rd level final racing.
