WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University men's crew program will send its heavyweight varsity four and lightweight varsity four to the 112th Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA) Championship Regatta on Lake Mercer in Princeton Junction, N.J. Racing will take place this weekend, May 30 – June 1.
Georgetown's heavyweight varsity four, consisting of stroke Benjamin Holtzmuller (Charlotte, N.C./Providence Day), Philip Miller (Greenwich, Conn./Brunswick), Robby Danziger (Lincoln, Mass./Belmont Hill), bow Hayden Pascal (Greenwich, Conn./Taft School) and coxswain Colette Gilner (Sandy Springs, Md./Stone Ridge) will be racing against a field of 18 starting on Friday. They open up in the second heat at 11:30 a.m. The Hoyas will face Wisconsin, Loyola Marymount, Penn, George Washington and Northeastern in their race.
The Hoyas' lightweight four, features stroke Connor Smith (Northfield, Ill./New Trier), John Walsh (Riverdale, N.Y./Fordham Prep), Gerard Thiers (Langhorne, Pa./LaSalle College HS), bow Luke Prioleau (Palo Alto, Calif./Palo Alto) and coxswain Maxwell Menard (Shrewsbury, Mass./St. John's High School). The Blue & Gray will begin racing on Sunday against MIT, Columbia, Yale, Wisconsin and Drexel with a morning heat at 8:20 a.m. in the event of 12 competitors.
