Georgetown Varsity Four Advances to Grand Finals at IRA

CHERRY HILL, N.J. - The Georgetown University men's varsity four crew finished in second place .2 seconds behind Brown in its Friday morning semifinal race. The Hoyas varsity four finished in a time of 7:17.9 into a strong headwind.

Georgetown men's varsity four, consisting of stroke Tim Broughton, John Absher, Alex Willen, bow Mike Hennessy and coxswain Kerri Mckie earned a spot in the Men's Varsity Four Grand Finals on Saturday morning at 9:10AM.

In Saturday's Grand Finals the Blue and Gray will face Washington, California, Northeastern, Brown and Navy.

GU went home with the silver medal in the varsity four two years ago at the 2010 IRA National Championship Regatta.
