Adam Banks is entering his fourth season as a full-time assistant coach with the Georgetown football program, but his fourth year on Coach Kelly's staff. Banks' responsibilities include coaching Georgetown's running backs.
Banks was promoted to a full-time assistant in May 2008 after spending his first season as a defensive assistant. In his third year on the Hilltop, Banks oversaw the wide receivers and slots in 2008 and 2009, while assisting Kelly with recruiting efforts. In 2010 Banks will focus his efforts on the teams' stable of running backs.
A four-year letterwinner from 2001-04, Banks played defensive back. He finished his career in 2004 after appearing in 47 games, registering 84 tackles (61 solo), six interceptions and 13 pass deflections.
Following his graduation from Georgetown, Banks interned at The Potomac School in Virginia, working in the athletic department offices and serving as a coach for the football, basketball and track and field teams.
Banks, who earned his bachelor's degree in English, finished a Master's of Education in professional studies from Marymount University in Arlington, Va. in July 2007.
