Chris Hayes joined the Georgetown University football coaching staff prior to training camp in July 2013. Hayes will make his collegiate coaching debut at Georgetown where he will assist Head Coach Kevin Kelly with the team's linebackers.
Prior to Georgetown, Hayes was a mathematics and physical education teacher at The Out-of-Door Academy in Sarasota, Fla., where he also served as a varsity and junior varsity football coach, working with wide receivers and linebackers. He also served as an Assistant to the Athletic Director, helping plan and organize events.
Hayes received his start in coaching as the junior varsity wide receiver coach at Christopher Columbus High School in Miami, Fla. There he organized individual drills and instructed players on the fundamentals of the wide receiver position.
Hayes walked on to the University of Miami football team in 2006 and spent four years with the Hurricanes, as a wide receiver, while also working on special teams. Was a finalist for the Rudy Award given to walk-ons during his senior season.
Earned his B.S. in Education from University of Miami in 2010. Is currently working on his M.P.S. in Sports Industry Management at Georgetown.
