Recruits: Ohio, Texas (Houston area), Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Tennessee. Alex Kolt will move to defense under coordinator Rob Sgarlata for his third season at Georgetown, where he will focus on the development of the team's defensive line. Kolt worked with the team's tight ends and offensive lineman in his first two seasons on the Hilltop.

Under Kolt, tight end Daniel Sprotte emerged as a receiving threat within GU's offense, finishing fourth on the team with 15 receptions for 134 yards. The Hoyas offensive linemen helped the squad improve the rushing attack by over 48 yards per game.

Kolt began his time on the Hilltop as the offensive line assistant and tight ends coach coach prior to the Georgetown University football team's winter training period in 2011.

In his first season he helped Tucker Stafford complete his transition from quarterback to tight end, as Stafford led the team's TE's with 10 catches for 103 yards and a touchdown.

At Georgetown, Kolt will assist offensive line coach Brian Miller with the offensive line in addition to working with tight ends, special teams, defensive scout teams and breaking down film.

Kolt is in his first coaching position after playing four seasons, while starting two at Hampden-Sydney College on the offensive line. At Hampden-Sydney, Kolt helped his team to conference championships in 2007 and 2009, finishing No. 14 in the nation in 2009. Kolt was also a three-time Academic All Old Dominion Athletic Conference.

Kolt, an Arlington, Virginia native, graduated from Hampden-Sydney with a B.A. in history and a minor in rhetoric and earned a master's of education in Sports Leadership at Hampden-Sydney
