Georgetown Football Has 25 Named to Patriot League Academic Honor Roll

WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University football team had 25 student-athletes earn Patriot League Academic Honor Roll recognition when the league office announced the recipients for the 2012 season on Tuesday afternoon. To be eligible for the Football Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average during the fall semester, while earning a letter in football at his institution. Senior offensive lineman Donald Rhodes (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin), a Patriot All-Academic First Team selection was named to the honor roll for the third time. Junior quarterback Aaron Aiken (Morristown, N.J./The Lawrenceville School) and junior defensive lineman Charles Dann (Youngstown, Ohio/Liberty) also were named to the honor roll for the third time. Senior wide receivers Jamal Davis (North Lauderdale, Fla./Coral Springs) and Brandon Floyd (Bel Air, Md./Loyola-Blakefield) each made the honor roll for the second time, while junior offensive linemen Heath Dickey (Arp, Texas/Bullard), James Spaly (Ann Arbor, Mich./Pioneer) and Mac Stephen (Frederick, Md./Frederick). Mitchell Black (Edinburgh, Scotland/University School), Dave Kurtyka (Ayr, Scotland/Radnor), Alec May (Wrenthem, Mass./King Phillip) and Devon Papandrew (Largo, Fla./St. Petersburg) were all among the nine Hoyas to earn their second selection to the honor roll.
Senior offensive lineman Kevin Sullivan (Maywood, N.J./Bergen Catholic), the No 35 Joe Eacobacci Memorial Jersey recipient for 2012 made his first appearance on the honor roll, along with junior running back Nick Campanella (Roselle, Ill./Montini Catholic), who was also an All-Patriot League Second Team selection for the second consecutive season. Overall 13, Georgetown student-athletes earned honor roll recognition for the first time. GEORGETOWN (25) |
