Jayah Kaisamba Named to ECAC Division I FCS First Team

WASHINGTON - Junior cornerback Jayah Kaisamba (Fort Worth, Texas/LD Bell) was named a 2010 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) All Star when honorees were announced. Kaisamba, who started 10 games at cornerback for the Hoyas was among the nation's leaders in interceptions.

The honor comes in a big offseason for Kaisamba, who became the first Hoya defensive back to be named First Team All Patriot League following the season.

He tied for 16th in the nation among Division I FCS players with five interceptions (.50 INT's per game) and second in the Patriot League, while leading a Georgetown team that finished eighth in the country in passes intercepted. Kaisamba was also 30th in the nation with 11 passes defended helping a GU defense rank 21st in Division I FCS in passing efficiency defense (110.52).

Kaisamba also tallied 69 tackles, 2.0 sacks and a forced fumble during the 2010 season.

Kaisamba and fellow all stars will be honored during the Eastern College Football Awards Banquet presented by FieldTurf on Thursday, February 17 in the Lexus Gridiron Club at the New Meadowlands Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
