Feb. 3, 2016

WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University football team announced its 17-student-athlete recruiting class on National Signing Day. The class is Head Coach Rob Sgarlata’s second at the helm of the program. The Hoyas add nine on defense, eight on offense and one on special teams for the Class of 2020.

Sgarlata and the Hoyas have continue their effort to recruit nationally, with their class of 18 hailing from 10 different states, including four apiece from Florida and Pennsylvania, two apiece from California and Georgia and one from each of Colorado, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey and Ohio. The program continues to search for leadership qualities with 13 former team captains

“Today is a very exciting day for our football program,” Sgarlata said. “The Class of 2020 has consistently achieved at an extremely high level both in the classroom and on the field. I would like to thank our Recruiting Coordinator, Alex Kolt and my coaching staff for their hard work and dedication. We are blessed to have incredible support in the athletic department and across our main campus. This combined effort has allowed us to recruit a nationally diverse group of student-athletes to the Hilltop. I would like to welcome the Class of 2020 to the Georgetown Football Family.”
