Georgetown Football Places 23 Student-Athletes on Patriot League Honor Roll

The Georgetown University football team has placed 23 student-athletes on the Patriot League Football Academic Honor Roll. Six seniors, including George Cullen (Janesville, Wis./Janesville Craig), Frank DiTomasso (Short Hills, N.J./Seton Hall Prep), Shane Isdaner (Gladwyne, Pa./Episcopal Academy), Philip Oladeji (Plano, Texas/Plano East), Geoffrey Schnorr (Wappinger Falls, N.Y./Roy C. Ketcham) and Dan Semler (Annandale, Va./W.T. Woodson) highlight the list of Hoyas named to the Honor Roll.

Isdaner, a defensive lineman and senior finance major, finished the fall semester with a 3.87 grade point average, the highest on the squad. Oladeji, who carried the ball for a team-leading 407 yards and was previously named to the Patriot League All Academic Team made the honor roll for the third time, as did fellow running backs junior Wilburn "Chance" Logan (Kingston, R.I./North Kingstowne) and freshman Dalen Claytor (Dunwoody, Ga./Dunwoody) also earned spots on the honor roll.

Schnorr, a senior running back and healthcare management policy major has earned a spot on the honor roll in each of his four years on the Hilltop, while Cullen, Ed Hesselgren (San Francisco, Calif/St. Ignatius), Kyle Miller (Plano, Texas/Dallas Jesuit), Oladeji and Semler have all been named to the honor roll three times. Tim Bayer (Cincinnati, Ohio/St. Xavier), Fino Caliguire (Pittsburgh, Pa./Montour), Ian Gaston (Perrysburg, Ohio/St. John's Jesuit), Jeremiah Kayal (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Hills) and Shane Isdaner (Gladwyne, Pa./Episcopal Academy) are all making their second appearances on the list.

 

 

Aside from the six seniors, seven juniors, four sophomores and six freshmen were named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll. To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the fall semester and be awarded a varsity letter in one of the Patriot League's seven fall championship sports. A record 196 student-athletes were honored, marking the fourth straight year that a record has been set on the Patriot League Football Academic Honor Roll.
