Georgetown Football Announces Spring Practice Schedule, Including Three Scrimmages

WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University football team has announced its spring practice schedule, beginning on Wednesday, March 21 at 7 a.m. on Multi-Sport Field. The Hoyas will have 15 practices during the spring season, including two scrimmages leading up to the Saturday, April 21 Spring Game set to take place at 6 p.m. All spring practices and scrimmages are open to the public
The Hoyas are coming off of its best season in over a decade, finishing 8-3 overall and 4-2 in the Patriot League, having played Lehigh for the Patriot League Championship in its last game of the season. Georgetown returns 11 players with starting experience on offense.
On defense, the Hoyas return All Patriot League First Team selections linebacker Robert McCabe (Newtown Square, Pa./Malvern Prep), and cornerback Jeremy Moore(New Haven, Conn./James Hillhouse). McCabe set the program's single-season record with 134 tackles, while Moore finished the season with four interceptions with 178 interception return yards. Moore was also among the nation's top kick-off return men, averaging 29.2 yard per return, the best single-season mark in Georgetown history.
During the week, the Hoyas will practice in the morning from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. They will play their first scrimmage on Saturday, March 31, beginning at noon. The second scrimmage will be played on Saturday, April 14, also scheduled to be played at noon.
