WASHINGTON - Georgetown Football Head Coach Kevin Kellyhas announced the program's 23-student-athlete recruiting class set to arrive on campus in August to begin preparation for the 2013 football season. The Hoyas will add 13 players to the offense, six to the defense, and four special-teamers to the Class of 2017.
The Hoyas incoming freshman hail from 12 different states, including California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas and Virginia.
"Our staff did a terrific job in bringing in this year's class and we're excited for them to arrive on campus this summer," Head Coach Kevin Kellysaid. "This is an excellent class and it will create much needed depth to supplement our eight returning starters on defense and seven returning starters on offense."

Tim Barnes QB 6-3 |190 Oradell, N.J. | River Dell Regional High School: A nine-time letterwinner, earning three in football, as a two-year starter at quarterback, three in baseball, two in basketball and one in swimming...Named captain of football, swimming and baseball team during his senior year...Selected first team all-league and third team all-county as a junior and honorable mention all-league as a senior...Selected first team all-league in basketball and second team all-league in baseball as a junior...Helped football team to a league championship in 2012...Coached by Donald Nimphius in football.
Joseph Bottari OL 6-6 | 275 Wakefield, Mass. | Malden Catholic High School: A one-year letterwinner in football, starting all 11 games during his senior season at left tackle... Allowed just one sack through the entire season...Received the Malden Catholic Model Congress Award and the Yale Model Congress Award...Was deemed an AP Scholar by the College Board.
Myles Braxton-Johnson WR 5-11 | 185 Bradenton, Fla./Southeast High School: A seven-time letterwinner, earning four in football, two in track and one in basketball...Played two seasons at safety, linebacker and receiver and two seasons at quarterback...Named football team captain for his senior season...Two-time all-area and 2012 All-State Honorable Mention...Selected Athlete of the Week by Channel 7 News...Selected to the 2012 PAL Bowl All-Star Game...Earned 2012 NCAA Award for highest grade point average on team...Helped team to district championship in 2010 and 2012...Tied school record with 62% completion percentage...Threw for 3,100 yards with 30 total touchdowns...A Wendy's High School Heisman, 2013 Foot Locker Scholar and Dartmouth Book Award winner...A member of the National Honor Society...Was coached by Paul Maechtle in football.
Matthew Buckman TE 6-3 | 220 Hasbrouck Heights, N.J. | Saint Joseph Regional High School: A three-year letterwinner in football, playing tight end, defensive end and outside linebacker...Selected as a team captain during his senior season...Played in 26 games, making 19 receptions for 352 yards and one touchdown on offense and 80 tackles and 10 sacks on defense...Was selected first team all-league, first team all-county and third-team All-State as a senior...Named second-team all-league in 2011...Helped team to No. 1 ranking in N.J. and Tri-State area, while capturing the 2012 State Championship...Member of the National Honor Society...Coached in football by Tony Karcich.
