WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University football program will welcome an incoming freshmen class of 22 student-athletes to the Hilltop when summer practice begins in August. Head Coach Kevin Kellyannounced the class, including newcomers from 14 different states with three from each North Carolina, New York and Texas and two apiece from California and New Jersey. Georgetown will welcome two players born outside with the country with one born in the Democratic Republic of Congo and another born in Okinawa, Japan.

In the Hoyas will add 12 new student-athletes to the offense, with four offensive lineman, three wide receivers, two quarterbacks and one running back, fullback and tight end. Of the 10 players added on defense, four are linebackers, three defensive lineman and three defensive backs.

"Our coaching staff did very well in meeting our needs at all positions," Kelly said about the 22 student-athlete class. "We are bringing in some excellent players, who should add needed depth to each position on the field, which is what will continue to make this program stronger for the future. With the number of talented and experienced student-athletes coming back next season we anticipate this group pushing our upperclassmen and making practice more competitive."

The Hoyas will welcome an athletic class, with 17 of the 22 incoming student-athletes competing in multiple sports at the varsity level. Overall, the class earned 132 varsity letters at the high school level and displayed leadership with 16 of the student-athletes being selected as team captains for at least one year.
