Georgetown Football Announces 30 Incoming Freshmen for Class of 2015
May 13, 2011
WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University football program will welcome an incoming freshman class of 30 student-athletes to the Hilltop when summer practice begins in August. Head Coach Kevin Kelly announced the class, including newcomers from 16 different states, including three apiece from Florida, Georgia, Maryland, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The Hoyas will also welcome two players born in Scotland.
The Hoyas will add 17 players to its defense with seven defensive lineman, and five linebackers and defensive backs coming into the fold. On offense, the Hoyas will bring in 13 freshmen with five offensive lineman, three SLOTS, two wide receivers, and one quarterback, running back and tight end.
"It's an excellent recruiting class that will help supplement the strong base or returning players that we have coming back," Head Coach Kevin Kelly said. "The big need is on the offensive line and the defensive front seven. I felt like our coaching staff did an excellent job of identifying and bringing in this group."
Georgetown will open its 2011 season on Saturday, September 3, when they host Davidson College under the lights at Multi-Sport Field at 6 p.m. The Blue & Gray will play back-to-back home games to start the season as Patriot League rival Lafayette comes to the nation's capital on Saturday, September 10 to take on the Hoyas at 6 p.m.
