June 5, 2009

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Georgetown University Head Football Coach Kevin Kelly and members of the Hoya coaching staff will be on hand to serve as counselors at the Sixth Annual Lauren's First and Goal Football Camp, which will be held on Sunday, June 7 at the Metzgar Fields Athletic Complex on the campus of Lafayette College.

Lauren's First and Goal Football Camp is a one-day, non-contact clinic open to students entering grades 9-12 in the fall of 2009. The minimum donation is $25, with all of the proceeds from the camp directly benefiting Lauren's First and Goal Foundation, a 501c3 tax-exempt charitable organization that supports pediatric brain tumor research and pediatric cancer services.

In its first five years, Lauren's First and Goal Foundation has raised more than $515,000 from the football camp, including more than $255,000 last summer. The camp is staffed by more than 300 coaches representing NCAA Division I, II and III institutions, all of whom volunteer their time and energy in support of Lafayette defensive coordinator John Loose, who serves as the camp director.

"This is a great camp to be part of and my staff and I are glad that we can help out," Kelly said. "We're glad that we can help to support one of our fellow coaches in the Patriot League."

Joining Kelly will be assistant head coach/defensive coordinator Rob Sgarlata, as well as assistant coaches Adam Banks, Frank Colaprete, Brad Dunlay and Luke Thompson.
