WASHINGTON - Rising senior cornerback Jeremy Moore (New Haven, Conn./James Hillhouse) was named to the College Football Performance Awards (CFPA) All-Purpose/Kickoff Returner Award Watch List when the list was released on Sunday evening. Moore was also named to the Defensive Back Award Watch List on June 11.
Moore was named to the Patriot League first team as both a defensive back and a kickoff returner after posting the highest single-season kick-off return average (29.2 yards per return) in program history during the 2011 season. Entering his senior season, Moore is the program's career kick-off return average leader (24.7). Moore's long return last season was 73 yards. Moore averaged 95.4 all-purpose yards per game last season in eight games, adding 178 yards of interception return yardage to his 584 kickoff return yards.
Moore is among three Patriot League student-athletes named to the watch list, including Tyler Smith (Bucknell) and Andrew Zitnik (Holy Cross). The watch list is made up of Division I FCS student-athletes from around the nation.
The Hoyas will open its season on Saturday, September 1, when they travel to Davidson, N.C. to take on the Davidson Wildcats at 6 p.m. The Hoyas play its home-opener on Saturday, September 8, when they host Wagner at 1 p.m.
