Nick Parrish, Andrew Schaetzke and Dan Semler Named to Phil Steele's 2010 All-Patriot League Team

July 14, 2010

WASHINGTON - Senior linebacker Nick Parrish (Irving, Texas/Jesuit College Prep) and junior defensive lineman Andrew Schaetzke (Toledo, Ohio/St. John's Jesuit) were named to Phil Steele's 2010 All Patriot League First Team, while senior offensive lineman Dan Semler (Annandale, Va./W.T. Woodson) was named to the second team when the publication announced its preseason honors.

Parrish, a team captain and three-year starter at linebacker, has led the Hoyas in tackles in each of the past two seasons, while leading the Patriot League with 110 tackles (10.0 tackles/game) during the 2009 season. The Irving, Texas native, is a two-time Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week and one of only four Patriot League players to ever return two interceptions for touchdowns in the same game.

As a sophomore, Schaetzke was fourth in the Patriot League compiling 9.5 total tackles for a loss and fifth in the league with 5.5 sacks. Schaetzke finished eighth on the team with 39.0 tackles, starting all 11 games on the defensive line.

Semler, a team captain and two-year starter, started every game at right tackle during his junior year and will be anchoring the Hoyas offensive line from right or left tackle in 2010. Semler was part of an offensive line that allowed the Blue & Gray to pass for over 2,000 yards in 2009.

Kevin Kelly will begin his fifth season at the helm of the Georgetown University football program when the Hoyas open its season at Davidson on Saturday, September 4. GU will travel to Lafayette and Yale before opening its home schedule against Patriot League rival Holy Cross on Saturday, September 25.
