Alec May has been named a Second Team FCS All-American by the CDFL

WASHINGTON - Senior defensive end Alec May (Wrenthem, Mass./King Phillip) has been named a 2014 FCS Preseason Second Team All-American by the Collegiate Development Football League (CDFL). May, a team captain and 2013 Second Team All-Patriot League selection was named to the North Second Team by the CDFL, the committee that will sponsor the 5th Annual 2014 FCS Senior Scout Bowl on December 20, 2014 in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

May finished fourth in the Patriot League in 2013 with 7.5 sacks and fifth in the league with 12.0 tackles for loss. He broke out late in the season, earning three-consecutive Patriot League Weekly Honorable Mentions, including one for recording 2.5 sacks in the Hoyas season-ending victory over Holy Cross. May was also named to the PL All-Academic Team in addition to earning his second-consecutive selection to the PL Academic Honor Roll.

This 2014 D1-FCS Preseason All-America Football Team is presented by the Collegiate Development Football League (CDFL). It was selected by the, "D1-FCS Senior Scout Bowl" committee and the 2015 "Team America" coaching staff. It is based upon player nominations and evaluations made by college coaches, college sports information directors, regional scouts and media personnel. The CDFL is honored to showcase the 2014 preseason All-American players and to sponsor the annual "D1-FCS Senior Scout Bowl" to be held in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on Saturday, December 20, 2014, the selected players are on the watch list for invitation to this game.

May and the Hoyas will open its season on Saturday, August 30, when they host Wagner at Multi-Sport Field. The opening kick-off is scheduled for noon.
