Washington, D.C. - In the second installment of Hoya Headliner, incoming freshman Wayne Heimuli introduces himself to the fans. The 5-10, 195 lbs. defensive back from Euless, Texas, comes to the Hilltop after earning First-Team All-District honors in 2006 and 2007 in his two seasons at Trinity High School. Hoya Headliner: How long have you been on campus for? Heimuli: About a week
Hoya Headliner: Have you enjoyed being on campus so far? Heimuli: Yeah, I like it. It's just really different
Hoya Headliner: What ultimately was the final decision in your selecting Georgetown? Heimuli: By far the academics
Hoya Headliner: How has the transition from high school to college been for you so far? Heimuli: It's been a great experience just getting to meet so many new people and learning so many new things.
Hoya Headliner: How have preseason workouts been going? Heimuli: It's been hard, but I know it will pay off.
Hoya Headliner: Has anything surprised you as far as the amount of conditioning and weight room work you are doing? Heimuli: The conditioning yes!
Hoya Headliner: What were your first impressions when you faced the challenge of the famed Exorcist Steps? Heimuli: It was hard, but I knew if all the big guys could do it, I could too. They pushed me a lot.
Hoya Headliner: Are there any players you've become friends with right away? Heimuli: All the players are really cool and down to earth.
Hoya Headliner: Do you have any superstitions before games? Heimuli: I have to be wearing my necklace, and I pray.
Hoya Headliner: What song gets you pumped up before games? Heimuli: "Eye of the Tiger"
