WASHINGTON - Georgetown University football senior linebacker Nick Parrish (Irving, Texas/Jesuit College Prep) has been named to the 2010 Preseason FCS Senior Scout Bowl All American Team, as an honorable mention, when the teams were announced last week.
Parrish, a two-year captain and recipient of the Joe Eacobacci Memorial No. 35 jersey for his senior season, led the Patriot League with 110 tackles (10.0/game) during the 2009 season. Parrish also had 2.0 sacks during his junior campaign.
The FCS Senior Scout Bowl is a post season all-star game showcasing the talent of senior players from the NCAA FCS Division. The preaseason team recognizes the football achievements of rising seniors entering their final season of play at the FCS level.
Throughout the 2010 season, the FCS Senior Scout Bowl selection committee will review player performance before finally selecting 86 of the top FCS players to be play in a North vs. South game format on December 11, 2010 at the Joseph St. Lawrence Sports Complex Stadium in Ramapo, New York.
Parrish and the Hoyas are wrapping up the first week of summer training camp in preparation for the 2010 season. Georgetown will open the season on the road against Davidson on Saturday, September 4. They play their first three games on the road before opening their five-game 2010 home schedule against Holy Cross on Saturday, September 25 at 2 p.m.
