Georgetown Football Announces Home Games To Be Televised on Verizon Fios1 for 2011 Season

Georgetown will once again have games televised on Verizon Fios1

Aug. 22, 2011

WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University football team will have all four of its home games at Multi-Sport Field televised on Verizon Fios1 during the 2011 season. This will be the third consecutive season that the Hoyas have had each of its home games televised.

Georgetown will have its season-opener televised when they host Davidson College on Saturday, September 3 (6 p.m.). The meeting with the Wildcats is a rematch of the 2010 season opener, in which the Blue & Gray defeated Davidson, 20-10.

"We are pleased to continue our partnership with Verizon Fios1 in broadcasting Georgetown Athletics," Director of Athletics Lee Reed said. "Fios1 has done a great job of providing our fans an opportunity to watch the Hoyas in the Washington Metropolitan area."

Verizon Fios1 will also televise the Hoyas Patriot League opener against Lafayette on September 10 (6 p.m.). They will also be on hand for Homecoming on the Hilltop when GU hosts Colgate on October 22 (2 p.m.). Finally, Georgetown's matchup with Fordham on November 5 (1 p.m.) will conclude the Georgetown football broadcasting schedule for the 2011 season.

In addition to the tape-delay televised games, Georgetown will feature live video broadcasts for all home games and live audio broadcasts of every away game during the 2011 season on the official athletic website - with Chuck Timanus providing a call of the action.
