Georgetown Football to Appear on Verizon FIOS1 Four Times During 2010 Season

Aug. 26, 2010

WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University football team will have four home games, including its home-opener and Homecoming game from the Multi-Sport Field, televised on Verizon FIOS1 during the 2010 season.

The Hoyas' first televised game will be on Saturday, September 25 (2 p.m. kickoff) when they host Holy Cross in the home opener, as part of Homecoming weekend on the Hilltop.

"We're excited to have Verizon FIOS1 serve as a broadcast partner with Georgetown Athletics," Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Lee Reed said. "It is a great opportunity for our athletics teams to appear on a strong network and to have the viewers of FIOS1 watch the Hoyas."

Verizon FIOS1 will also return to the Hilltop on Saturday, October 16 (1 p.m.) when the Hoyas host Patriot League opponent Bucknell.

GU will host another Patriot League rival Lehigh on Saturday, November 13 (1 p.m.). The following week the Hoyas will conclude the regular season on television against Marist on Saturday, November 20. Kickoff for the Blue & Gray's Senior Day will be 1 p.m.

In addition to the televised games, Georgetown home and away games can be heard live on Georgetown's official athletic website - www.guhoyas.com - with Chuck Timanus calling all of the action.
