WASHINGTON - Senior defensive end Alec May (Wrenthem, Mass./King Phillip) has been named a Patriot League weekly honorable mention when the league announced its Corvias Weekly Award winners on Monday afternoon. May recorded nine tackles, three tackles for loss, two sacks and a pass breakup in the Georgetown University football team's 21-3 season-opening loss to Wagner.
This marks the fourth time May has received weekly honors from the Patriot League, as he was named a defensive honorable mention for each of Georgetown's last three games of the 2013 season. In his last four games, May has recorded 10.5 tackles for loss and nine sacks.
May moved into 10th place in Georgetown history with 14.5 career sacks, placing him in front of Mike Melchionda (1994-98) and Jim Klessel (1991-94), both with 13, and just behind Brett Davis (1982-85) with 15.
The Hoyas return to action on Saturday, September 6, as they travel to Dayton, Ohio to take on Pioneer League foe Dayton.
