Extra Points: The Georgetown Football Blog

Sept. 10, 2009

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Georgetown University football team will practice under the lights on Thursday at the Multi-Sport Field as the team prepares for its home opener, this Saturday, Sept. 12 against Lafayette. Kickoff is slated for 6 p.m. Senior tight end Henry Bowe (Deephaven, Minn./Minnetonka), as he has done since the start of preseason camp, provides an update.

"We had a great start to our first game last Saturday and it wasn't until the fourth quarter that we finally lost the lead against the preseason favorite to win the Patriot League (Holy Cross). The outcome of the game did not go as planned for us but we did play a great game against one of the better opponents we will be facing all year. We are confident that after making adjustments and corrections during practice and meetings this week, we will experience a different outcome Saturday night.

"Thursday night, we will be practicing under the lights to prepare for the first ever night game for Georgetown football (at Multi-Sport Field). I know captain Nick Parrish is disappointed he won't have the opportunity to wake any students up at seven in the morning, but I also know he is still hoping to bother their studying at the very least.

"Lafayette will be a tough team and it will be another great test for us with Patriot League championship implications. We look forward to seeing all of you at the Multi-Sport Facility this Saturday night and watching us Hoyas lead the student section with 'It's been so long since last we met.' "
