WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University football team returns back to the Multi-Sport Field on Saturday, Sept. 19, hosting Ivy League member Yale University. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m. on the Hilltop. Senior tight end Henry Bowe (Deephaven, Minn./Minnetonka), as he has done since the start of preseason camp, provides an update.
"It's been another busy week for us Hoyas. After a disappointing loss this past weekend, we are all ready to move forward and start a new chapter in the season. As Coach Kelly said, `There are still nine games left in the season.' Even with all of the long days going from practice to class and then doing work, practice continues to be fast-paced and the morale upbeat.
"Our captains have been great and keep everyone going. Rich Hussey continues to fire up the team and probably a few tired underclassmen, while Dan Matheny is still doing his best to pancake members of the scout team, and Coach (Rob) Sgarlata is still making fun of us when he gets the chance.
"Though Yale will be another tough opponent, even more so because of an entirely new coaching staff, we are still confident we can turn things around this week. We have made adjustments, and some changes that we hope can spark the performance of the team. I encourage everyone that bleeds Hoya Blue to come out this Saturday to see a new, revitalized team get their first win of the season against the Yale Bulldogs!"
