Kyle Nolan Named Patriot League Football Rookie of the Week; Kevin Macari Earns Honorable Mention

WASHINGTON - Freshman quarterback Kyle Nolan (Branford, Conn./Branford/Choate Rosemary Hall) was named Patriot League Rookie of the Week, after throwing three touchdown passes in his first collegiate start in a loss at Colgate on Saturday afternoon.
Nolan, who began the season as the Hoyas fourth string quarterback was called upon due to injuries and shined, completing 16-of-39 for 260 yards and three touchdowns for the Hoyas, who scored a season-high 36 points. Nolan became the fourth quarterback to start for Georgetown this season and the first freshman to start since Isaiah Kempf started against Yale in 2009.
Sophomore wide receiver Kevin Macari (Stamford, Conn./New Canaan) earned league honorable mention making eight catches for 181 yards and four touchdowns against the Raiders. Macari, helped make Nolan's transition a smooth one, becoming the first Hoyas receiver to post over 180 receiving yards since Luke McArdle in 2003. Macari's 62-yard touchdown reception was a career-long and the longest by a GU player this season. This is the second time this season and the third time during his career that Macari has earned a weekly honor from the Patriot League.
The Hoyas return to action on Saturday, October 27 when they head to Easton, Pa. to take on the Lafayette Leopards at Fisher Stadium with the kick-off slated for 6:05 p.m. After a bye week, the Hoyas will play its final two games at Multi-Sport Field when they host Bucknell on November 10 and Holy Cross on November 17 for Senior Day.
