WASHINGTON - Junior cornerback Jeremy Moore (New Haven, Conn./James Hillhouse) was named the College Football Performance Awards National Defensive Back of the Week for his two interception, seven tackle performance in Georgetown's 40-17 victory over Colgate on Saturday afternoon. Senior placekicker Brett Weiss (Phoenix, Md./Boys' Latin) was earned honorable mention for Placekicker of the Week.
Moore intercepted two passes in the third quarter to halt Colgate drives, helping the Hoyas seal its first victory against Colgate in eight previous tries. He also had seven tackles and two kick-off returns for 50 yards.
The honor is the second national recognition Moore has earned during his career on the Hilltop. On September 20, 2010 Moore was named the College Football Performance Awards National Special Teams Player of the Week after returning a kick for a touchdown at Yale.
Weiss was an honorable mention for the CFPA National Placekicker of the Week after a four field goal and four extra-point performance. The four field goals and 16 points were both career-highs for Weiss.
