WASHINGTON - Junior defensive end Alec May (Wrenthem, Mass./King Phillip) was named a Patriot League weekly defensive honorable mention, after registering seven tackles, 1.5 sacks, 2.5 tackles for loss, one forced fumble and one pass breakup in the Georgetown University football team's 17-7 loss to Bucknell on Saturday.
The honor is the second in three weeks, for May, who has put together a breakout two-game stretch for the Hoyas. In GU's last two games, May has compiled 5.5 tackles for loss of 33 yards and 4.5 sacks for a loss of 26 yards, both against Patriot League opponents. May also registered 19 tackles, broken up one pass and forced one fumble during the Hoyas losses to Lafayette and Bucknell.
On the season, May is tied for fifth in the Patriot League in sacks (4.5) and seventh in tackles for loss (10.0), behind teammate Jordan Richardson, who is third in the league with 11.0.
The Hoyas (1-9, 0-4 Patriot League) will concluded its 2013 football schedule on Saturday, November 23 when they travel to Worcester, Mass. to take on Holy Cross (3-8, 1-3 Patriot League).
