Khristian Tate Earns Third Patriot League Honorable Mention Honor

Nov. 20, 2017

WASHINGTON - Georgetown University sophomore defensive lineman Khristian Tate (Warner Robins, Ga./Covenant Academy) has been named Patriot League Honorable Mention, recognizing his efforts in Georgetown’s Senior Day game against Colgate on Saturday.

Tate had a hand in both of Georgetown’s takeaways against Colgate, recovering a fumble and recording his first career interception. He returned his interception, which came on the first play from scrimmage, 29 yards for a touchdown to give the Hoyas a 7-0 lead just nine seconds into the game. It was Tate’s second defensive touchdown of the season, tying him for the Patriot League lead. He also finished with nine tackles, including 1.0 tackle-for-loss, and recovered a fourth-quarter fumble in the red zone.

This is Tate’s third weekly honor of the season, and the fifth of his career. He also garnered rookie of the week honors last year. Overall, this is the eighth weekly honor of the season from the Patriot League for the Blue & Gray.
