Philip Oladeji Named to Patriot League Football All Academic Team

WASHINGTON - Senior running back Philip Oladeji (Plano, Texas/East Plano) was named to the Patriot League All Academic team when it was announced by the league office in Center Valley, Pa. on Tuesday evening.

Oladeji, a two-year starter at running back, led the Hoyas rushing attack with 400 yards on 88 carries for an average of 4.5 yards per carry. He also tied for a team-high with four rushing touchdowns during the 2010 season. In the final game of his career against Marist on Saturday, Oladeji rushed for a season-high 70 yards on 17 carries and scored the game-tying touchdown to help lead Georgetown past the Red Foxes, 14-7.

Oladeji has also excelled in the classroom during his time on the Hilltop. He carries a 3.261 grade point average as a nursing major in the School of Nursing and Health Studies and serves as the chairperson of the NHS Minority Health Initiative Group (MHIG) on campus. The groups' mission is to promote the importance of optimal health to minoirities through health education and training, research, and community outreach in an effort to reduce health disparities.

Oladeji finished his football career at Georgetown with 882 rushing yards on 193 carries and five touchdowns. He finished seven carries short of placing eighth in program history with an average of 4.57 yards per carry. Oladeji is scheduled to graduate with a degree in Nursing from the School of Nursing and Health Studies in May.
