Jo'el Kimpela earns his second PL weekly honor of the season.

Nov. 24, 2014

WASHINGTON - Senior defensive end Alec May (Wrentham, Mass./King Phillip) and junior running back Jo'el Kimpela (Kinshasa, D.C. Congo/Euless Trinity) were named Corvias Patriot League Weekly honorable mentions when the league announced its award winners from the final week of the season. May earns weekly recognition for the fifth time this season, while Kimpela earned his second.

May and Kimpela helped key the Hoyas 22-16 season-ending victory over Holy Cross on Saturday.

May had nine tackles, one tackle for loss, one sack and two quarterback hurries in his final game on the Hilltop. The sack gave May 16.5 for the season, breaking Georgetown's single-season mark previously held by Janne Kouri (16 in 1996). May, a Buck Buchanan Award candidate, recorded a sack in each of his last five games and 13 of his last 14 games.

Kimpela earns his second weekly honor of the season after rushing for 109 yards and the eventual game-winning touchdown on 21 carries. It was the fourth time this season that Kimpela has broken the 100-yard mark. He has averaged 6.3 yards per carry in six Patriot League games this season with three touchdowns.
