WASHINGTON - Junior defensive end Alec May (Wrenthem, Mass./King Phillip) was selected to the Patriot League All-Academic Team when the league announced its honorees on Wednesday afternoon. May was named All-Patriot League Second Team on Tuesday.

In addition to May's standout play on the field, he has been equally impressive in the classroom. The economics major is carrying a 3.57 cumulative grade point average through his first two years on the Hilltop.

To be eligible for the Scholar-Athlete of the Year award and the Academic All-Patriot League Team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average and be a starter or key player in his/her sport. Freshmen or students in their first academic year at their school are not eligible for the honor. The Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year for each individual sport comprises the pool of nominees for the Patriot League Male and Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year awards given out over the summer. One male and one female are selected for this honor.

May finished among the Patriot League leaders in tackles for loss (12.0) and sacks (7.0) and earned a Patriot League weekly honorable mention for each of the Hoyas last three games.
