GREENVILLE, NC - Georgetown's men's golf team participated in its first event of 2005 and placed in a tie for 11th at the Bradford Creek Invitational hosted by East Carolina University. The Hoyas shot a combined 593 and tied with Seton Hall for 11th place. Winning the event was host East Carolina with a 568. VCU and Miami of Ohio who finished in a tie for second at 576 followed the Pirates.

In his first tournament of the spring junior David Erickson (Edina, MN/The Blake School) scored a two round 145 (74-71) and tied for 21st place in the tournament. Both Matt Myers (St. Joseph, MO/Central High School) and Tim Moynihan (Murrysville, PA/Franklin Regional) each shot a combined 146 and tied for 29th. Rounding out the Hoya five was Bob Molina (Stokie, IL/Loyola Academy) who placed in a tie at 78th with a 156 and David Praet (Oakland Township, Mich./Notre Dame Prep) who finished with a 157 and tied for 81st.

Georgetown's next event will be the First Energy Intercollegiate on April 8-9 in Akron, Ohio at the Firestone Golf Club.
