MEMPHIS, Tenn. - MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Georgetown University men's golf team shot a team score of 625 through the first 36 holes at the Memphis Intercollegiate at Colonial Country Club on Monday. The Hoyas are currently 13th out of 15 teams with 18 holes to play on Tuesday morning.
Junior Greg Podufal (Erie, Pa./Cathedral Prep) leads the Hoyas, tying for 36th place overall by shooting a nine-over par 153 through two rounds. Podufal carded a four-over par 76 in the first round.
Senior Ed McCrossen (Philadelphia, Pa./Chestnut Hill Academy) is tied for 45th after 36 holes, shooting an 11-over par 155, while sophomore Raleigh Chapin (Doylestown, Pa./New Hope Solebury) shot a 158, including a second round four-over par 76.
Senior Charlie vonArentschildt (Scottsdale, Ariz./Deerfield Academy) was a stroke behind Chapin, shooting a 159 to sit in 68th place after the first day. Junior Brian Tohir (New Canaan, Conn./New Canaan) finished the first 36 holes tied for 79th place, shooting a 169.
Host Memphis is the overall leader, finishing the day with a team 576, while the Tigers' Cory Gaylord leads the field at four-under par 140. South Alabama is second at 587, while Arkansas State and Cincinnati are tied for third at 589.
