Men's Golf Closes Day One at Princeton Invitational

WASHINGTON - Georgetown University's men's golf team played its first two rounds at the 27th annual Princeton Invitational earlier today and resides in 12th place after a team total of 40-over par 608. Georgetown shot a 302 in round one and a 305 in round two. Leading the competition is Princeton with a two-over par 570. The individual leader is Yale's Brad Kushner with a three-under par 139. GU's Justin Edwards (Westlake Village, Calif./Westlake Village) posted the top score of the day for Georgetown after recording a 70 and a 75 (three-over, 145). Edwards shot five birdies on the day, with four coming in the first round. He is tied for 15th overall. Greg Podufal (Erie, Pa./Cathedral Prep) carded five birdies as well on his way to a two round total of seven-over par 149 (74-75). Podufal is tied for 31st. Tying for 43rd is senior Curtis Loop (New Canaan, Conn./New Canaan) with an eleven-over par 153 (76, 77). Brian Tohir (New Canaan, Conn./New Canaan) fired an 82 and a 79 to tie for 66th (161). Raleigh Chapin (Doylestown, Pa./New Hope Solebury) meanwhile carded an 83 and 80 (163) and is 70th.
