ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Junior Greg Podufal (Erie, Pa./Cathedral Prep) shot a two-over par 72 to seal a second place individual finish at the Notre Dame Oak Hill Intercollegiate at Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester, N.Y. on Tuesday morning. The Georgetown University men's golf team finished fourth overall in the field of seven.
Podufal, who posted an even par 140 on Monday to put himself in third place, climbed one spot with a 72 to finish the tournament at 212. He finished three strokes behind Niall Platt of Notre Dame.
The Hoyas finished fourth overall with a team score of 900, slipping one spot after shooting a team score of 302 on Tuesday. GU finished behind Notre Dame (866), Nebraska (870) and Boston College (898). Rochester (927), St. Bonaventure (941) and Canisius (963) rounded out the field.
Senior Charlie vonArentschildt (Scottsdale, Ariz./Deerfield Academy) finished 14th overall after shooting a 74 in the final round to give him a final score of 225.
Freshman Austin Rendell (Winnetka, Ill./New Trier) shot an 83 to finish at 233, tying for 23rd place, while sophomore Matthew Moosavian (Westerville, Ohio/St. Charles Prep) carded a 76 to give him a 234 for the tournament to place tied for 26th.
Senior Ed McCrossen (Philadelphia, Pa./Chestnut Hill Academy) shot an 80 to finish at 237 in a tie for 32nd place to round out the Georgetown competitors.
The Georgetown University men's golf team begins competition at The BIG EAST Championship at the Callawassie Island Country Club in Charleston, South Carolina on Sunday, April 27. The three-day championship concludes on Tuesday, April 29.
