Georgetown Men's Golf Tied for Seventh Place at Adams Cup

Washington, D.C. - Georgetown University junior men's golfer Matt Busa (Cleveland, Ohio/St. Ignatius) shot a four-over par 76 to tie for 11th place and the Hoya men's golf team is tied for seventh place overall at the Adams Cup of Newport, being held at the Newport National Golf Club in Rhode Island.
The University of South Carolina-Aiken carded a 13-over par 288 to lead the 16-team field. Southeastern Louisiana is in second place at 16-over par 304, followed by North Carolina (17-over par 305), Texas A&M (18-over par 306) and host Rhode Island (19-over par 307). North Texas stands in sixth place at 22-over par 310, while Georgetown is tied for seventh with South Florida at 29-over par 317. Martin Ureta of North Carolina shot a one-under par 71 to lead the field of 80 golfers.
Busa's round of 76 put him in a tie for seventh place to pace the five-man Georgetown squad. Seniors Matt Myers (St. Joseph, Mo./Central) and David Erikson (Edina, Minn./The Blake School) carded rounds of six-over par 78 to tie for 24th place, while junior Tim Moynihan (Murraysville, Pa./Franklin Regional) is tied for 70th place at 13-over par 85 and freshman Tim Hager (Ivyland, Pa.) is tied for 78th place at 16-over par 88.
