The Georgetown University men’s golf team fired the second-best round of the day with a 4-over par 292 and finished in fourth place among 16 teams at the Patriot Intercollegiate, played at the par-72, 7,071-yard Chantilly National Golf and Country Club in Centreville, Va.
The Hoyas had entered Tuesday’s final round in seventh place but moved up three places after their best team round of the season.
Appalachian State won the tournament, shooting a 9-over par 873, with Florida Gulf Coast and Delaware tied for second place at 12-over par 876. Georgetown was fourth at 19-over par 883 and Elon rounded out the top five teams, carding a 25-over par 889.
Leading Georgetown was senior Sam Madsen (Madison, Wis./Cardinal Gibbons [Fla.]), who finished in a tie for third place at 1-under par 215.
Sophomore Eduardo Blochein (Delray Beach, Fla./Spanish River Community) tied for 10th place at 2-over par 218, including an even par 72 in the final round.
Senior Cole Berman (Philadelphia, Pa./The Haverford School) tied for 28th place at 8-over par 224, also carding an even par 72 on Tuesday.
Senior Jack Musgrave (Chesterton, Ind./Andrean) posted a 1-over par 73 in the last round and finished in a tie for 60th place at 16-over par 232, while sophomore Hardin Council (High Point, N.C./Westchester Country Day) tied for 66th place at 18-over par 234.
