Georgetown Lands in 10th after Two Rounds at Cobra PUMA Invitational

WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University men's golf team is 10th after two rounds at the Cobra PUMA Invitational held in Fort Myers, Florida at Miromar Lakes Golf Course. Greg Podufal (Erie, Pa./Cathedral Prep) leads the way for the Hoyas after shooting a 72 and 70, which ties him for 12th place overall with five other competitors at two under. Florida Gulf Coast University is in the team lead with a score of 18 under (278-280). Rounding out the top five are second place Penn State, third place Bethune Cookman and tied for fourth are Florida Atlantic and Wofford. Georgetown is 12 over par (296-292) and is alone in 10th. Fifteen teams are competing at the invitational. Freshman Raleigh Chapin (Doylestown, Pa./New Hope Solebury) was steady over two rounds and is in a tie for 31st after hitting a 147 (73-74). Junior Charlie vonArentschildt (Scottsdale, Ariz./Deerfield Academy) sits in a tie at 39th after shaving three strokes off his round one score, 76-73 (149). Senior Curtis Loop (New Canaan, Conn./New Canaan) posted back to back 75s and is tied for 47th. Brian Tohir (New Canaan, Conn./New Canaan) closed out the Hoya five with 155 (76-79) which ranks in a tie at 61st. All five Hoyas will be back on the course for the final round tomorrow, Monday, October 1. The shotgun start begins at 8:45 a.m.
