Washington State freshman Hank Frame fired a 3-under par 68 and the Cougars have three players among the top-10 overall to take the team lead after the first round of play at the 25th Annual Georgetown Intercollegiate, being held at The Members Club at Four Streams.

The first day of play had originally been scheduled for two rounds and 36 holes of play, but inclement weather in the Washington, D.C. area, combined with frost in the morning, forced the teams to play only 18 holes on Monday. The tournament will be shortened to 36 holes and Tuesday's final round will include 18.

Washington State leads the field of 12 teams with a 1-over par 285, 11 strokes ahead of UNC-Greensboro and Richmond, who are tied for second place at 12-over par 296. Detroit stands in fourth place at 15-over par 299, while DePaul and Campbell are tied for fifth place at 17-over 301. Miami is in eighth place at 18-over par 302, St. John's is in eighth place at 19-over par 303 and the Hoyas are tied for ninth place at 25-over par 309 with St. Joseph's.

Frame was one of two Washington State players to post under-par scores, joined by sophomore Trent Sanders, who carded a 2-under par 69 and stands in second place. Senior Kevin Tucker is one of three players tied for ninth place after shooting a 2-over par 73.

Georgetown was led by sophomore Brian Dorfman (Greenwood Village, Colo./Cherry Creek), who is tied for 24th place at 5-over par 76, while junior Brandon Ellis (Westerville, Ohio/St. Francis de Sales) and senior Vincenzo Salina (Vandoeuvres, Switzerland/Institut Florimont) are tied for 29th place at 6-over par 77.

Junior Taylor Hall (Roswell, Ga./Blessed Trinity) is tied for 44th place at 8-over par 79 and freshman Brad Cadigan (South Weymouth, Mass./Boston College Prep) is tied for 59th place at 13-over par 84.

Six Georgetown players are competing in the tournament as individuals. Senior co-captain Trevor Matese (Bethesda, Md./Georgetown Prep) is tied for 44th place at 8-over par 79, juniors Danny Hathway (Rockville, Md./Georgetown Prep) and John Olsen (Mahwah, N.J./Bergen Catholic) and sophomore Brian Czarnecki (Greenwich, Conn./Greenwich) are tied for 52nd place at 10-over par 81, senior Donald Thomas (Murrysville, Pa./Franklin Regional) and freshman Justin Edwards (Westlake Village, Calif./Westlake Village) are tied for 63rd place at 16-over par 87.
