The Georgetown University men's golf team shot a 29-over par 313 in the second round and fell to fourth place among 15 teams competing in the second round at the NCAA East Regional Preview, being hosted by Columbia University at the Galloway National Golf Club in Galloway, N.J. The Hoyas had been tied for first place after the first round with a 17-over par 301. TCU, ranked 19th in the latest rankings from Golfweek Magazine, shot a 12-over par 296 in the second round and vaulted into the team lead with a 36-hole score of 35-over par 603. Florida, ranked 21st by Golfweek, shot a 20-over par 304 and moved into second place, six shots off the pace at 41-over par 609. Eastern Kentucky is in third place at 45-over par 613, followed by the Hoyas in fourth at 46-over par 614, with St. John's rounding out the top-five at 50-over par 618. Michael Blodgett of Penn continues to lead the field of 81 golfers, carrying a four-over par 146 into Sunday's final round. Blodgett shot a four-over par 75 in the second round. Junior Vincenzo Salina (Vandoeuvres, Switzerland/Institut Florimont) is tied for eighth place to lead Georgetown. Salina shot a five-over par 76 in Saturday's second round and is tied for eighth with TCU's Tom Hoge at nine-over par 151. Senior Tim Hager (Ivyland, Pa./Council Rock North), who was tied for second place after firing a 1-over par 72 in the first round, shot a 9-over par 80 in the second round and fell into a tie for 10th place at 10-over par 152. Senior classmate Garrett Logan (Henderson, Nev./Bishop Gorman) is three shots behind, standing in a tie for 20th place at 13-over par 155. Sophomore Brandon Ellis (Westerville, Ohio/St. Francis de Sales) is tied for 27th place at 14-over par 156, while freshman Brian Dorfman (Greenwood Village, Colo./Cherry Creek) is tied for 58th place at 22-over par 164.
