Charlie von Arentschildt Named BIG EAST Golfer of the Week

WASHINGTON - Georgetown University sophomore men's golfer Charlie von Arentschildt (Scottsdale, Ariz./Deerfield Academy) after he helped to lead the Hoyas to a second place finish at the Princeton Invitational last weekend.
The Blue & Gray shot an even-par 284 in the final round on Sunday and finished in second place among 14 teams. The Hoyas were tied for the team lead with Yale after 36 holes on Saturday at 7-over par 575. The Bulldogs, however shot a 1-under par 283 in the final round to provide the final difference in the team standings, finishing atop the 14-team field at 6-over par 858, with Georgetown second at 7-over par 859.
Georgetown put two individuals among the top-10 and three among the top-20 to place second, led by von Arentschildt.
Von Arentschildt shot a 1-under par 70 in Sunday's final round and finished in second place among 74 golfers at 4-under par 209. The sophomore posted three-straight under par rounds, firing a 2-under par 69 in the first round followed by back-to-back scores of 1-under par 70.
Sidelined by an injury during the fall, von Arentschildt returned to the Georgetown lineup after the first tournament of the spring campaign. Since then, he has posted two top-20 finishes in three events, including a tied for 16th place at the Wildcat Invitational, where he posted a 15-over par 228.
In nine rounds this spring, he has a 74.11 stroke average.
Georgetown is back in action this Saturday, April 21, playing in the Navy Spring Invitational.
